Getting perfect alignment
- Always print at 100%. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" and turn off "Fit to page" or "Scale".
- Print the alignment test page on plain paper. Lay it over a label sheet and hold both up to a window.
- Nudge it. If everything is shifted, use "Move right / Move down" in millimetres. Your printer's offset is saved in this browser.
- Feed one sheet at a time for best accuracy on laser printers.
Thermal printers
For direct thermal printers, pick the roll size and print the PDF with the printer's own paper size set to the same dimensions and scaling at 100%. Bar widths around 10 or 15 mil line up neatly with 203 DPI print heads.
